from Sofia, Bulgaria is a member of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team International.

Sopan has run 12 multi-day races for nine years of running ultra-long distances.

He is the only Bulgarian to run as far as 5000 km or 3100 miles for 50+ days and is currently holding all national records for distances over 700 miles (1126 km).

He is the current Bulgarian record holder for 700 miles too (10 days, 20 hours, 58 minutes).

The 3100 Mile Race is a unique race - the longest certified race in

the world. Competitors seek to complete 3100 miles which involves

5649 laps of a .5488 of a mile course (883 meters) in a timespan

of 51 days.During the 1980s and 1990s, the Sri Chinmoy Marathon

Team emerged as one of the leading pioneers of ultra distance running.
